Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) was founded in the year 1926 by Sir Shri Lala Ram. SRCC is one of the earliest Commerce and Economics institutes of India. SRCC is a specialized constituent college of the Delhi University located in North Delhi, India. Initially, SRCC was a Commercial School. Later on in 1932, it was converted into a degree college. 2. St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata

St. Xavier’s College has been named after St. Francis Xavier, a saint of the 16th century. The college was founded in 1860 by the Society of Jesus or the Jesuits, under the leadership of Father Depelchin. It is one of the most admired educational institutions of India. St. Xavier’s College is the first autonomous college of West Bengal. It is affiliated to Calcutta University, DOEAC and IGNOU to conduct their respective courses. 3. Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR), New Delhi

Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR) was established in the year 1956 by the late Sir Shri Lala Ram in memory of his wife. The institute has been known as a premier institution of higher studies for women in India. LSR, a centre for academic excellence and achievement is today one of the finest institutions for Humanities, Social Sciences and Commerce, while offering a B.Sc. Programme in Statistics as well. 4. Loyola College, Chennai

Loyola College, Chennai was established in 1925 by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). The primary objective of the college was to provide University Education in a Christian atmosphere for deserving Students, especially those from the Catholic Community. Even though, this college is primarily meant for Catholics, it admits other students irrespective of caste and creed. Loyola College became self-governing in 1978. However, the College continued to be affiliated to the University of Madras. Hans Raj College, Delhi was founded on July 26, 1948 by the D.A.V. College managing committee in the memory of Lala Hansraj. Hans Raj College is a premier institution of DAV Managing Committee, the largest non-government educational organization of the country. It is a constituent college of University of Delhi. 6. Christ University, Bangalore

Christ University was formerly known as Christ College (Autonomous) affiliated to Bangalore University. With a view to blend sacred and secular education, the institute was established in 1969, by the CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate), the first native religious congregation of the country. 7. Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai

Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics is a leading college of India affiliated to Mumbai University. 8. Madras Christian College, Chennai

Madras Christian College was founded as a School in 1837 in the black town of Madras. MCC is one of oldest extant colleges in Asia. Many dedicated Indian teachers along with generations of brilliant students contribute to its success story. 9. Hindu College, Delhi

Hindu College is known as one of the premier academic institutions in India. The college was established in 1899, by Late Shri Krishan Dassji Gurwale. In the backdrop of the nationalist struggle against the British rule, some prominent citizens including Shri Gurwaleji of Delhi, decided to start a college that would, while being non-sectarian and non-elitist, provide nationalist education to the youth of Delhi. 10. Stella Maris College, Chennai

Stella Maris College is a Catholic institution of higher education for women. It is an autonomous college affiliated to the University of Madras and is partly residential. The College is under the management and direction of the Society of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary and is a minority institution providing university education in a Christian atmosphere for deserving students, especially those from the Catholic community. Others students are also admitted irrespective of caste and creed and their rights of con science are respected. In 1951, the College was granted permanent recognition. It started operating on August 15th, 1947 in a small one-story building, with an enrollment of 32 students.
