University Technology Services at in collaboration with various University administrative office’s administrative Information Services have developed and maintained VIP. A few resources are available on the Internet due to the Board of Trustees of the University of South Carolina have the copyright of all VIP’s components. Members of the USC community such as students, faculty, staff, and alumni and secure, personal access to University data are provided by this Intranet. For USC students and employees, VIP is a tool. Many federally registered trademarks are owned by the University of South Carolina. Without the express permission of the University of South Carolina, use of registered trademarks is a desecration of federal and state law.

Login at Vip.Sc.Edu:

For logging in, you have to visit Vip.Sc.Edu. At the homepage of Vip.Sc.Edu, you will find the “login” option. Click on “login” option; enter your My VIP ID and password or a valid USC ID number and PIN then click on “login” option. If you are new at Vip.Sc.Edu, then click on “first time users” option. Enter your USC identification number, if you are a current or former USC student then enter your student pin, and if you are USC faculty, staff or a student employee, enter your employee pin then click on “login” option.

My VIP ID is the 8-digit number and used can be used at the University of South Carolina as an alternative to the USC Identification number for logging into VIP. For active students, staff, and faculty members, this new ID number is automatically generated. Each member of the University community is identified by a unique and permanent number, My VIP ID. you have to initially log on to VIP by using your USC Identification number (your Social Security Number) and PIN (the 4-digit number), and the personal link will establish a password to accompany the 8-digit My VIP ID. To gain access to VIP, the My VIP ID and password can be used.

My VIP ID Password is a unique password that must be accompanied with 8-digit My VIP ID. Logon to VIP using your University ID (SSN) and 4-digit PIN to set or reset your password. After that link to Personal, and “show me My VIP ID and password” and then create a secure password to accompany your My VIP ID.

Password restrictions:

Password must be 8 – 14 characters and must meet at least three of the following:

  • One or more numeric characters (0-9)
  • One or more lowercase alphabetic characters (a-z)
  • One or more uppercase alphabetic characters (A-Z)
  • One or more special characters (!@#$%^&*-+= etc)

You need to login to VIP using your University ID (SSN) and 4-digit PIN to reset your My VIP ID Password. Then link to Personal and “show me My VIP ID and password”. If you are a student and forgot your PIN, then to reset your PIN for VIP, go to “forgot your password” link to the PIN set/reset page. On this page, you must provide some identifying information in order to obtain a new provisional PIN, which will be sent to your University Email address. If the University cannot verify your identity, or if no email address is on file, you must obtain a new provisional PIN by presenting positive ID (see below).
