The University Of Vermont (UVM) is regarded to be one of the top universities in the world. This famous university, located in the beautiful city of Burlington, Vermont, was established in the year 1791. Since then, UVM has been providing an unbeatable educational experience for hundreds of thousands of students every year. Many international students find UVM University an ideal place for an undergraduate, graduate, or medical education. In fact, each year, UMV admits a number of international students from about 54 foreign countries all over the world. As a result the university has a diverse student population comprising people from different races, genders, ethnicities, classes, abilities and religions.
Although UVM is one university, it consists of seven undergraduate schools, a graduate college, an honors college, and a college of medicine. UVM offers several bachelors, masters and doctoral programs through the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the College of Education and Social Services, the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Medicine, the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, the Graduate College, the School of Business Administration, and The Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources.
All UVM students, faculty members, and staff are automatically granted one Network ID and a standard email address. ETS (Enterprise Technology Services) generates standard email IDs, Network IDs, and email accounts for each and every affiliates automatically. And the university uses this email account as the primary means of official communication with all students. However, in order to use one’s account and email-id, the student must first complete the following two steps:
1, Activate your Network ID
To activate your UVM Network ID, all you have to do is visit www.uvm.edu/account/ and then follow the on-screen instructions.
2, Choose and configure an email client program
Different people have different working styles. For this reason ETS supports two ways to manage emails at UVM:
Web-Based Email: WebMail
Just like any other major universities, the UVM also provide web-based e-mail services to all students. Webmail enables you to access your email from any computer (on or off-campus) at any time, 24 hours a day! No doubt Webmail is a very handy feature for the students as no configuration is required. All you need is an active Internet connection, a functioning web browser (such as Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari), your UVM NetID, and your password. Now, follow the simple steps given below and log in to your UVM Webmail account to check you email.
- Visit https://webmail.uvm.edu/ in your web browser
- Enter your UVM Network ID and password in their respective fields
- Choose your language from the drop-down menu
- Finally, click on the ‘Login’ button
Dedicated Email Client
Now, if you’re one of those people who handle large volumes of emails, who want features that are not available in Webmail, or those who simply need a higher-performance Email solution, then you’ll have to use a dedicated Email client. Even though almost any IMAP compatible mail client should work with the university’s mail servers, it is recommended to use one of the following three clients: Apple Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird, and Mobile Clients.
