After 24 season 7, the serial story included Jack Bauer who contending with killing threats made in the peace conference between President of the United States Allison Taylor and President Omar Hassan of the imaginary Islamic Republic of Kamistan (IRK), a country like to Iran. Kamistani citizens indignant on their nation’s treatment at American hands and disappointed at Hassan’s willingness to grant their attempts at developing nuclear weapons, turn against their country with the secret aid of the Russian mob, first attempting to kill Hassan and then to strike at America directly.

The season was placed in New York City with CTU’s New York City office having been re-activated. 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Television produced the 24 Season 8. In interview, Kiefer Sutherland appeared that season 8 would take place within very close proximity to the closing events of season 7. But eventually the story picked up over a year after the events of the season 7.

Howard Gordon, Evan Katz, David Fury, Manny Coto, Brannon Braga, and Alex Gansa were executive producers. Chip Johannessen and Patrick Harbinson were co-executive producers. Brad Turner was the primary director and executive producer. The series casts Kiefer Sutherland and Brian Grazer were also executive producers.

24 is also a suspenseful series which has been nominated for a total of 68 Emmy awards winning for Outstanding Drama Series in 2006. Over the course of seven seasons, Sutherland has achieved seven Emmy nominations and one win for Outstanding Lead Actor. Cherry Jones who was co-star of 24 Season 7 also received an Emmy nomination for her well praised work as President Allison Taylor. 24 Season 8 included new elements with a new setting, new threats and new cast members.

The Baltimore Sun’s TV critic David Zurawik said, “Jack Bauer and 24 were more or less dead to me two years ago. Like the several times that I checked back in on Jack the last couple of years, Monday’s two-hour finale had echoes of the greatness that Jack and this series once were. But mainly what I saw were replays and repeats without the cultural resonance or the edge-of-your-seat storytelling power and magic.”

The Los Angeles Times’ Mary McNamara focused on the crackling “unconsummated” romance between Jack and Chloe she wrote “24″ “managed to do what so many shows try and fail to do: Go out with not just a bang but its original convictions intact. Jack Bauer remains, to borrow the words of the immortal Harper Lee, one of those men born to do our unpleasant jobs for us.”
