Mauro Fiore, the cinematographer for the blockbuster Avatar, won the awards for Best cinematography at 2010 Oscar Awards which was held on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. Actors Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin were host the show. After receiving the award Mauro Fiore thanks director James Cameron for his “amazing vision” and also gave shout out to his parents and stated, “Viva Italia” for his families’ native homeland.

Avatar movie also won total three Oscar awards for Best visual effects, Best Art Direction and Best cinematography. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Bruno Delbonnel), The Hurt Locker (Barry Ackroyd), Inglourious Basterds (Robert Richardson), and The White Ribbon (Christian Berg) were also nominees for Best Cinematography.
Avatar was the one of the best Hollywood movie of 2009. Jake Sully is the lead character as played by Sam Worthington, while Zoe Saldana is featured as his love interest, Neyteri. Avatar centers on an ex-Marine who immerse himself into an alien race. With the help of Avatar body, he is able to adapt to his latest environment although he is still present in his human mind. One of biggest movie events of all time, Avatar provokes both love and vitriol in equal measure. Last year Slumdog Millionaire had won the Oscar awards for best cinematography. It was allegedly Fiore’s work on Tears of the Sun that caught Cameron’s eye and ultimately led to his work on Avatar.
