Chicago River is turn into green color river for specially Saint Patrick’s Day. There are originally 100 pounds of vegetable color was used to turn the river green for a whole week. The Saint Patrick Day Celebrations are generally themed of the four leaf clover because the Green colors were worn in celebration of St Patrick’s Day as early as the 17th century. These colours and symbols are also used to decorate streets and buildings.

    Great pictures but some one shoudl have come to Savannah Ga. St.patrick day party .It is the 2nd largerst behind NYC. Check it out for next year. if you please . been going for over 50 years. i just walk in ours and it was a great day for the irish and non-irish. i marched with the ALZ. group because of my mother condition 89 years young . . god bless.
