Left 4 Dead 2 is a sequel to first award winning Valva Corporation’s Left 4 Dead game. Left 4 Dead 2 is set during the aftermath of an apocalyptic pandemic, and the game focuses on four survivors fighting against hordes of the infected. It has new several features introduced, such as new types of polluted, melee weapons, and a story that connects each of the game’s five campaigns together. The game has attracted an unusually high volume of pre-release system. Left 4 Dead 2 introduced three new Infected, new melee weapons, Scavenge Mode, the Uncommon or Common Infected, and Realism Mode. The game has received a big combination of positive, negative, critical, and community effect.
Game Story:
The Left 4 Dead 2 story is similar to Left 4 Dead game, it has five campaigns and set in the Southern United States. It has four new survivors, and its back story is again provided through dialogue. Savannah to reach safely at the hotel, the survivors discovered themselves by helicopters because they are hearing word of a second evacuation point to the mall. The survivors must fight their way through levels, spread with safehouses that act as checkpoints, with the goal of reaching a rescue vehicle at the campaign’s finale. The gun store owner Whitaker has the brief encounter. The Midnight Riders, in order near attract the attention of a helicopter pilot, the survivor find that their pilot has been infected and Nick says to kill him.
The boat captain Virgil takes them to New Orleans, to find more survivors, where the military appears to still be abandon civilians. The group makes their way to the removal point because they are finding that the military is actually bombing in the bridges to cover their move away. The survivors then make their way across a bridge and and board the last military helicopter leaving the city before the bridge is destroyed.
Game play:
The game presents five new campaigns, each collected by four or five smaller maps. Players can start their levels with a single pistol, and also promote to double pistols or trade for a crowbar. The players who pre-ordered the game received the ability to start with a baseball bat as a downloadable extra. Players also carry a flashlight, which can be used to plan in dark areas but may startle the infected.
Left 4 Dead 2 holds the three game modes of the original game, Campaign, Versus, Survival and adds a new game mode called Scavenge. All weapons and items are found at the starting of each campaign and within safe-houses.
- Campaign mode up to four human players fight against the computer-controlled Infected.
- Versus mode up to four other human players take control of the various special infected who tried to prevent the Survivors from reaching the next safe house.
- Survival mode is a timed challenge where the survivors are trapped in a section of the campaign maps.
The game also features a realism mode, which helps to player at any difficult time. According to Valve’s Chet Faliszek, the realism mode, which is designed to force players to work closely together and rely on voice communication, was created to give players a way “to be challenged as a team” without having to increase the difficulty level of the game.
