GameStop PowerUp Rewards program was launched in October 2010 and now it has 10 million members. GameStop PowerUp Rewards program offers a range of bonuses to card-carrying loyal consumers. When members of GameStop buy online and in stores, GameStop PowerUp Rewards program rewards them with points exchangeable for a range of items. The retailer got help in achieving record earnings, with digital sales up 53% in Q1 of 2011 with the fast-growing program. PowerUp Rewards is approximately 50 percent of GameStop’s deals and rising.
GameStop members visit GameStop far more regularly and spend more than three times in comparison to the non-member spends. Digital income from console purchases increased 50% and PC digital income raised 62% besides PowerUp Rewards revenue. The quarter’s E-commerce sales were increased by 20%. Membership of PowerUp Rewards was increased in Q1 with the help of more than 13 million monthly unique visitors and the partnership between GameStop and a free browser-based game site, Kongregate.
The site was incorporated with PowerUp Rewards by the retailer and with this merging; members were allowed to score points on Kongregate.com for a range of activities besides getting rewards for shopping with GameStop. PowerUp Rewards has been intended by GameStop to carry on develop with the current acquisitions of Spawn Labs, a game streaming company, and Impulse, a PC digital download company, and both will be incorporated into existing GameStop operations.
GameStop is incorporating the download engine into GameStop.com and with this; the integration of Impulse has been started. PowerUp Rewards will also be completely incorporated into Impulse. Product of Spawn for the first of two betas is preparing that will be performed this year. New PowerUp Rewards program of retailers will go into beta testing soon then customers will get a totally diverse card to forget to bring to GameStop with them. This card will feature both free and paid cards that will be packed with profits that do not completely suck.
New PowerUp Rewards card will come with new points system as well as members will get 10% discount on utilized merchandise and 10% trade-in bonus with the new PowerUp Rewards Pro card. Members will earn 10 reward points for each dollar they spend on new merchandise at GameStop by using the card. They will score 20 points per dollar as do trade-ins on used merchandise.
Members also get bonuses on their birthday, upon first activation, and upon establishing their online games library, which may be used to aim marketing in their direction by GameStop. GameStop website has a rotating sequence of gifts, from GameStop gift cards to movie and dinner coupons to Xbox Live and Netflix subscriptions.
