I’m 80 years old and have traveled all over this great land we live in. I served 20 years in the Army and have lived in several states. I have childern, grandchildren and great grandchilden who love playing out door sports. The young people need good, safe sports fields to play on. I vote that this is where the money should go. Sfc. I would like to vote for our town of Columbiaville, Michigan. Our park was named after a wonderful man called Bert Vermilya. He was the town florist during the early years of our town. He and his brother, Curt, were the local florists where everyone from small towns around Columbiaville came for their produce plants and flowers. Bert served on the Rotary committee for several years and left what little money he had to the town he loved. At one time Columbiaville was the leading processor of wool in the state of michigan. Our town was built on the bank of the Flint river watershed and is a lovely place to live. However, we need very badly help our small park. The town kids need a place to continue to play and have fun. Thank you

My vote goes for Northwest Little League, Orlando, Fl. If I understand correctly, this field is the only one in the greater Orlando area that does not get financial support from any specific city and the county does not contribute any support of any kind. Consequently, the league and it’s home field survive on donations, of dollars, time and sweat, from the parents and friends of the kids who play there. These little kids are proud of their home field and play their little hearts out, but when they have an “away game” at one of the other local “complexes”, they /we can all see the difference. The support and dedication from the “volunteer”coaches, parents, and friends is unbelievable. From the people that run the concession stand to earn money for the field, to the coaches that give their time and money to the teams, to the man who is out there mowing everytime I’ve been there……really amazing. A $30,000 field makeover would make a huge difference for so very many people…….both children and adults!
