On 19 February, according to Iowa City Police, Christopher W. Smead, 21 years old took a mobile phone from the men’s locker room of Core Fitness Center. Police also added Smead used the cell phone without the owner’s permission and from the stolen phone; he has send over 500 text messages and making phone calls. Police said that he was charged with fifth degree theft and Smead also admitted for taking and using the phone. The University Of Iowa Department Of Public Safety charged to Smead with an unrelated offense. Smead was seen in UI library with a handgun tucked into the back of his pants on January 30.

According to the police, Smead was being charged with carrying the air pistol and then he did not appear in the court. Smead pleaded guilty when arrested for the theft charge and is currently serving a 30 day sentence for his offenses.

A famous American TV actor and singer Pernell Roberts passed away at the age of 81 years after fighting Pancreatic Cancer at his home in Mailbu, California on Sunday, January 24, 2010. Robert also appeared in various tv series including, “Hawaii Five-O”, “Marcus Welby”, M.D.”, “The Virginian”, “Banacek”, “Mission Impossible”, “Ironside”, and “Mannix”. Famous comedian and rapper Katt Williams was arrested on Sunday night November 8 outside of Atlanta after supposedly breaking into a home and stealing thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and coins. Due to this reason Katt Williams is charged with burglary and criminal trespassing, according to Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Maj. James Yarbrough. On Monday night, Katt Williams was released on bond after police said that they arrested the entertainer for breaking into a home and stealing jewelry and coins.

William had begun his career as a stand-up comic, gaining attention in 1999 for comedy. He has acted in several movies including Eddie Murphy’s “Norbit” and his voice is popular for cartoons including “The Boondocks”. His recent CD release is “It’s Pimpin’ Pimpin’.”

The 38 years old Katt Williams had appeared in court at 4 pm on Monday because of accused of stealing jewelry and collectible coins worth 3,555 dollars. Yarbrough said it happened at a home in Newnan, about 38 miles southwest of Atlanta. In addition to it, he also told that Daniel Broach, the unidentified homeowner called police around 9 pm to report Williams broke into his home and stole items.

After discussion magistrate of Coweta County had set bail of about $41,000 in a hearing on Monday afternoon for Katt Williams. It is not known yet on what charges he is facing. Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhara Reddy died in an air tragedy, his state funeral was on Friday, 4 September 2009. The national flag will be flown at half mast in Delhi and all state capitals for seven days; this was the state mourning, declared for the deceased leader.

For people to pay homage, YSR’s body was kept at the Lal Bahadur Stadium on Friday. For state funeral the body was taken to his native Pulivendula town in Kadapa district. To pay their last respects to YSR, popularly known as the ‘Lion of Kadapa’, several union ministers arrived in Hyderabad early Friday.

Wreaths on the body were laid by Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. YSR’s wife Vijayalakshmi, son YS Jaganmohan Reddy, daughter Sharmila and other family members were consoled by them. The leaders, who were accompanied by several central ministers, were written their condolence messages in a book also.

Andhra Pradesh Governor Narayan Dutt Tiwari, Veerappa Moily, Sushil Kumar Shinde, AK Antony, Praful Patel, Salman Khursheed, Prithvi Raj Chauhan and P Chidambaram had paid their last respects.

YSR an ‘ideal chief minister who was a role model for other states’, called by the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh yesterday, Sonia Gandhi said it ‘is a huge loss for the party and the whole country’.

YSR will be missed enormously, he was a great leader.
